What is MSOA?
Midwest Soccer Officials Association is Greater Cincinnati’s premier soccer referee association for mentoring, training and networking. Our purpose is to train soccer officials for all levels of soccer including local youth soccer, high school soccer, college soccer, and beyond. We work closely with the Ohio South State Referee Committee (OSSRC) and the OSSRC Referee Academies to provide the most recent training materials and topics available from US Soccer. As an affiliate of both Ohio High School Athletic Association and the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association, our training extends beyond USSF into High School and College as well.
Who should join MSOA?
If you enjoy being a soccer referee, and would like to improve your referee skills, you should join MSOA. If you enjoy talking soccer and being around other people who love to referee, you should join MSOA. If you have a desire to work more challenging games and upgrade your US Soccer badge, you should join MSOA. If you want to connect with assignors for High School games, MRL games, and other “high end” games, you should join MSOA.
What does it cost to become a member of MSOA?
NISOA, OHSAA, USSF grade 6 and above $40.00
Under 18 free.
What are the benefits of membership in MSOA?
MSOA will help you become a better soccer referee. For those who officiate high school soccer games, we are affiliated with OHSAA and attending our fall meetings satisfies your annual training requirements with the state. Many of our referees have upgraded their USSF badge to state (grade 6 and 5) and national (grade 4 and 3). We often have MLS referees available to speak with our members. Networking with top level officials, and those who work the more advanced games, gives you access to the information you’ll need for who to talk with and how to get involved.
